On 25-26 November and 1-3 December 2010, the first Paralympic training workshops for Sochi 2014 Organising Committee staff were held in Moscow. The workshops are organized by IPC Academy, RIOU and OCOG "Sochi 2014".

Sochi 2014 Organising Committee staff together with RIOU staff and Sochi City Administration staff took part in the first workshop, entitled "Understanding requirements and planning a sustainable legacy for the Paralympic Games". During the workshop, the following topics were discussed: the Paralympic Games legacy for Sochi and Russia as a whole, and strategies, events and other initiatives aimed at preserving the legacy.

On 1-3 December, a second workshop entitled "Commercialisation of the Paralympic brand" was held. Sochi 2014 staff from many Functional Areas, key stakeholders and Partners, including representatives from Krasnodar Region Administration, RZD and Rostelecom, took part in the workshop. The session was designed to provide the participants with an understanding of the unique elements of the Paralympic brand.

In 2011, another five Paralympic workshops were held in Moscow: "Creating Awareness, Influencing and Training the Media", "Defining and Managing Costs and Revenues and Activating Paralympic Marketing Opportunities", "Meeting and Exceeding Expectations of Paralympic Family", "Creating a Once in a Lifetime Experience for Athletes and Team Officials", "Inspiring and Exciting Spectators and Community". In 2012, a workshop "Managing a Major Event" was held in Moscow. By participating in the programme, participants gain unique knowledge, competence and experience, enabling them to effectively deliver the Sochi 2014 Paralympic Winter Games and create a sustainable legacy.
