Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Sports and Physical Training Affairs and Russian International Olympic University sign Memorandum of Cooperation

On 17 May 2013 Head of the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Sports and Physical Training Affairs Erlan Kozhagapanov and RIOU Rector Professor Lev Belousov signed a Memorandum of Cooperation in Astana. The parties agreed on cooperation in the field of knowledge exchange and staff training for the development of grassroots and elite sport in Kazakhstan, promoting Olympic ideals and shaping sports legacy.  

Under the present document Russian International Olympic University is to support the Kazakh Sports Agency in implementation of educational programmes through its innovative educational tools and practices in sport business.

Head of the Kazakh Agency Erlan Kozhagapanov said: "Further development of sport in our Republic requires not only talented coaches and athletes. We also need highly qualified managers who can give a new incentive to develop our sports industry. That's why we are delighted to have such a partner as RIOU with its advanced teaching resources and educational technologies in sports management". 

The Memorandum of Cooperation between two organizations formalizes their commitment to carrying out scientific and applied research for the benefit of sports in Kazakhstan involving international expertise, implementation of educational programmes, workshops and practical training sessions, as well as expert dialogue and consultations on current issues of the development of the Olympic movement, physical culture and sports.

"The development of sports in Kazakhstan is in the focus of attention at the moment, and high results of the national team at the largest international competitions demonstrate how successful the policy in this sphere is. Our university was found under the patronage of the International Olympic Committee to provide a new generation of effective sports managers with the unique knowledge and skills shaped on the basis of Olympic Games staging experience. We are ready to provide a transfer of this knowledge and skills to young Kazakh specialists who will develop sports industry of their country", - said Lev Belousov.
