On the final leg of the Sochi 2014 Olympic Torch Relay, RIOU Rector, Professor Lev Belousov ran his stretch from the Chernomorye spa hotel to the Winter Theatre, being enthusiastically cheered by RIOU's students on the MSA programme.

Lev Belousov said: "I am truly honoured to carry the Olympic torch through Sochi streets! Joining the torch relay is a real chance to feel the Olympic spirit and make Olympic history, and such once-in-a-lifetime experience is indeed exhilarating. I am proud that Russia is now in the centre of the world's attention and that Sochi is hosting this wonderful celebration of sport. I am convinced that Sochi-2014 will be a superb Games that will leave a lasting legacy, including the Russian International Olympic University. So, let's thoroughly enjoy this mega-event and shout for our country!"
