On June 21, the Belarus Olympic Committee and the Russian International Olympic University signed a Memorandum of Cooperation at the Moscow House in Minsk. НОК Беларуси и Российский международный олимпийский университет подписали Меморандум о сотрудничестве

The document formalised the agreement between the two parties to work jointly in areas such as developing and delivering educational programmes in sports management based on cutting-edge educational technologies and teaching techniques, conducting theoretical and applied research, facilitating expert dialogue on issues related to the development of the sports industry and the Olympic Movement, expanding research and student exchange between RIOU and universities recommended by the Belarus NOC.

Acting first vice-president of the Belarusian NOC Viktor Lukashenko expressed his belief in the importance of such agreements: “The NOC of Belarus gives a high priority to the Olympic education in this country. We publish educational and reference materials, design Olympic tests, and disseminate these among children and young people. We are seeing a great interest in this topic, which keeps growing. As a result, awareness of the importance of the Olympic Movement is rising in Belarus”.

“We are delighted to sign this memorandum with RIOU. Over 60 Belarusian specialists have already received training at this university, and the feedback from them has been highly positive. Let us hope that the expertise that RIOU provides to its students will foster the development of the Olympic Movement and Olympic education in our two countries”.

The RIOU Rector, member of the Russian Academy of Education Lev Belousov spoke about the advantages of studying at RIOU: “Our university is tailored to train management specialists for the sports industry. We produce managers in the broad sense of the term. Our graduates can manage any sporting events and venues. It is the world’s only university to have the Olympic rings on its diplomas – this is our main advantage”.
