RIOU’s first steps in Central Europe

The Russian International Olympic University makes itself known in Central Europe. Upon the invitation of the Polish Olympic Committee the RIOU's CEO Professor Lev Belousov held a presentation of the University for the Polish Olympic and educational community. He gave an overview of RIOU's history and mission – training qualified managers for Russian and international sports industry, Olympic and Paralympic movement. Professor Belousov noted that "University's special feature is combining the Olympic education and professional training in sports industry taking into account the real needs and in close cooperation with the IOC".

The audience that gathered in the Warsaw Olympic Center included IOC member, VP of the Polish NOC Irena Szewińska, deputy minister of sport and tourism Tomasz Półgrabski, the president of the Polish NOC Andrzej Kraśnicki and the secretary general Adam Krzesiński, representatives of the Polish Sports Association and "Poland – London 2012" Сlub, as well as the Sports Institute, a number of leading Polish universities and a group of sports journalists.

The presentation in Warsaw opens a new format for RIOU international activities – direct cooperation with national Olympic committees.
