In 2010, the Russian International Olympic University undertook the implementation of more than 10 educational programmes ordered by the Sochi 2014 Organising Committee. Since 2011, RIOU has been conducting special training courses for Russian regional sports leaders, Olympstroy staff and Sochi's municipal employees. Currently, RIOU offers a number of new educational programmes, including Olympic hospitality workshops and a 72-hour Paralympic sport and barrier-free environment staff development course for executives and managers from the sports industry.
The MSA (Master of Sport Administration) course was launched in September 2013. This special programme has been devised by a group of leading Russian and foreign experts in accordance with RIOU's original concept which was approved by the International Olympic Committee (IOC). In 2017 the influential British "SportBusiness International" magazine has ranked the Master of Sport Administration course second among all European postgraduate sports courses (2017 Postgraduate Sports Course Rankings). In future, the University is planning to run an ExМSA (Executive Master of Sport Administration) postgraduate course.
The University can host up to 500 students at any one time and the annual number of graduates (including external courses) will reach 2,000. Our lecturers and professors include renowned Russian and international experts in sports management.
