RIOU construction moving to next phase

Assembling the main supporting structures of the complex of the Russian International Olympic University started In Sochi. The preparatory works have been fully completed including pouring foundations, installing ceilings and underground parking floors. The total area of the campus is more than 3.5 hectares. It will be occupied by nine buildings that will house academic and administrative areas, apart-hotels, as well as the largest conference center in Southern Russia that can hold up to 1108 people. The campus will be certified according to the BREEAM international environmental standard. The land around the campus will be improved with 30% of the territory landscaped.

According to the CEO of University Plaza (the developer), Ivan Moskvin-Tarkhanov: "At the final stage of certification, we were rated« Very good »- this is a very high score when it comes to ‘green' construction, the use of environmentally friendly materials, innovative and energy-saving technologies - explained Moskvin-Tarkhanov. - "A system of simple measures" is already being applied at this stage. Those measures are to comply with international demands: separate collection of waste, water treatment, separate storage and transportation of the waste. This is a new trend for the world and a good experience for those who manage the infrastructure".
