The Global University Summit opened in Moscow today. The event is scheduled to run till April 25 and is hosted by MGIMO-University in association with the Foreign Ministry and the Ministry of Education of Russia.
The Summit is bringing together leaders from the world's foremost universities, professors and researchers from across the world, as well as acclaimed economists, financiers and political scientists. The delegates have come to the Russian capital to deliberate on the modern drivers of economic growth and mechanisms of managing global risks and security issues. This year's event will feature speeches from senior foreign service officers, education policy-makers, representatives of economic policy organisations and international institutions. The list of speakers includes Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, Russian Minister of Education and Science Dmitry Livanov, Rector of Lomonosov Moscow State University Viktor Sadovnichy, Principal and Vice-Chancellor of the University of St Andrews Louise Richardson, President of Venice International University Umberto Vattani, President of Tokyo University of Foreign Studies Hirotaka Tateishi, among others. Traditionally, special panels will be dedicated to regional security.
The Summit will be accompanied by an education exhibition, where the Russian International Olympic University will present its flagship MSA ("Master of Sport Administration") course, along with its other learning products and publishing programme.
