Professor Lev Belousov, Rector of the Russian International Olympic University, has become a member of the Club of the Rectors of Europe (CRE), a prestigious organisation created on the initiative of the international scientific community to further communication between university leaders and researchers from 30 countries across the world.

The CRE membership marks recognition of Professor Belousov’s personal contribution to enhancing the integration of science, culture and education, raising the role of universities in all spheres of human activity, as well as fostering the intellectual development of modern society. As a CRE member, Lev Belousov will be involved in the work of independent academic committees with various areas of expertise, which aim to consolidate the efforts of academics, researchers and business organisations in facilitating research, education, and innovation.

The induction ceremony was held on December 15 within the framework of the Summit of Leaders in the City of Oxford, where Professor Belousov delivered a presentation entitled ‘A new approach to training sports managers: using the Olympic experience’.
