On July 23-26 within the framework of the "Olympic educational program" (implemented by RIOU and ROC with the financial support of the Norilsk Nickel) the "Sport and Law" training course was held. 42 students took part in it. Within the intensive course a wide range of issues related to the notion and principles of sports law, anti-doping support and the specific features of the operation of branch legal institutions in sports were studied. Classes were conducted by Doctor of Law N.L. Peshin, the RIOU Pro-rector for Research, Professor of the Char of Constitutional and Municipal Law of the Faculty of Law, M.V. Lomovosov Moscow State University.
First of all, the audience was interested in such topics as the analysis of issues of labor relations featuring athletes and coaches, institutes of civil and entrepreneurial law in sports, peculiarities of state regulation of sports. Practical cases were analyzed, primarily those related to the consideration and resolution of sports disputes, the students suggested practical solutions, the level of which was then evaluated and compared to the positions of sports arbitration courts.
The students highly appreciated the practical orientation of the course and its applicability in the management of Russian sports organizations.
