Areas of competence:

Sports management in the context of globalization. Girginov's most recent projects include the creation of intangible Olympic legacy, UK and Russian National Governing Bodies of Sport leveraging of the 2012 London and 2014 Sochi Olympic Games for capacity building and the knowledge transfer processes within the Organizing Committees of the London 2012 and Sochi 2014 Olympic Games.

Areas of Expertise: 

Specializes in the field of sports development including Olympic movement, comparative management and policy analysis. He has worked with and been consulted by sport organizations in Bulgaria, Canada and England as well as the Trim and Fitness International Sport for All Association. Girginov's most recent projects include ‘Intangible Olympic legacy: Concept and Measurement' (IOC-funded) and ‘Do anti-doping interventions work? (WADA-funded).

Professional Experience:

·         Previously worked as advisor to the Chairman of the Bulgarian Sports Union, on the Sofia bids for the Winter Olympic Games and in higher education institutions in Bulgaria and Canada.

·         He has been researching the sports development legacy of the 2012 London Olympic Games.

·         Executive Editor of the 2012 Routledge Special Olympic Journals Issue.
