RIOU has already started the implementation of the Agreement of Cooperation signed the day before by the Governor of Krasnoyarsk Kray Lev Kouznetsov and CEO of the Russian International Olympic University Lev Belousov. On 31 May in Krasnoyarsk RIOU held training «Effective management in sport industry. Regional and municipal level».
First Deputy Governor – Head of administration of Krasnodar Kray's Governor Vasily Kouzoubov having welcomed organizers and participants of the training shortly covered the situation in regional sport industry and expressed his hope for long-term cooperation of the region and RIOU. Professor Lev Belousov told about current activities and educational products of the University.
Russian and foreign experts in the sphere of sport management spoke to appropriate executives of regional and municipal authorities, sport academies, regional sport federations, clubs, major sport venues, coaches of sport schools.
In particular, Dean of the Faculty of management of Vancouver Capilano University (Canada) professor Gram Faine told about effective strategy of sport development which is being successfully implemented in Canada. Director of Loughborough Olympic Studies Center (Great Britain) Ian Henry introduced European Union's models of sport policies. Expert of RIOU, First Vice-Principal of Moscow University of Industry and Finance Vladimir Lednev analyzed implementation of different sport management strategies in region and municipality. Andrew Malygin, Board Member of the Russian sport venues association pointed out features of sport marketing and sponsorship at federal, regional and local levels. Head of RIOU international programmes Dmitry Boshmann covered basics of staging Olympic and Paralympic Games 2014 in Sochi.
Summarizing results of the training CEO of RIOU pointed out that it was not only the meeting of speakers and audience, but interesting dialog of professional sport managers. He pointed out that "today we have only opened first pages of the very interesting book "Cooperation of Krasnoyarsk Kray and RIOU", but the very first lines evoked a response and keen interest among sport industry professionals of the region". Professor Lev Belousov resumed: "I reckon that goals of the training were delivered and I hope that every participant gained knew knowledge to implement in his further work".
RIOU opens new page – begins direct cooperation with regions of the country. On 30 May Governor of Krasnoyarsk Kray Lev Kouznetsov met CEO of RIOU Lev Belousov in Moscow to discuss different aspects of cooperation between RIOU and the region. This meeting lead to signing of the Agreement of Cooperation which provides exchange of knowledge and training of professional managers for Krasnoyarsk Kray sport industry. The education process involves implementation of different educational programmes with the participation of leading Russian and foreign experts.
During the ceremony Governor Lev Kouznetsov expressed hope that cooperation with RIOU "will give to the region ability to educate professionals in the sphere of sport management using up to date methodic and rich international experience". In his turn professor Lev Belousov draw his attention to the fact that implementation of signed Agreement begins literally on the next day: "On 31 May in Krasnoyarsk RIOU will hold first regional training for executives of regional sport federations, clubs, major sport venues, coaches of sport schools on the theme: "Effective management of sport industry".
