In spite of summer Russian International Olympic University (RIOU) continued implementation of special programme for increasing qualification of regional sport and physical culture executives. On 16 June in sport center of Alexander Karelin in Sochi RIOU with the support of Ministry of Sport, Tourism and Youth Policy of the Russian Federation held training «Effective application of financial recourses in sport industry». More than 60 sport and physical culture executives from Central, Northwestern and Fareast federal districts took part in this training.

During the opening of the event CEO of RIOU Professor Lev Belousov read greeting words from the Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Boris Gryzlov to organizers and participants.

Deputy Minister Natalya Parshikova read greeting of the Minister of Sport, Tourism and Youth Policy of the Russian Federation Vitaly Mutko. In her speech Natalya Parshikova pointed out that it is important for regional sport executives to know how to attract investments in sport, but at the same time they must learn proper distribution and application of government financial recourses appropriated for the development of sport and physical culture in regions.

CEO of RIOU Professor Lev Belousov explained to the audience all milestones of RIOU's development and shared RIOU's plans for future. Speaking of training he noticed that «it is already third training which the Olympic University holds for sport executives. Open dialog with regions allows pointing out core development problems of sport and physical culture and it will become the basis for future educational programmes of sport management».

Famous Russian and foreign experts of sport management and marketing spoke to participants of the training. Three-time Olympic champion, Hero of Russia, Deputy of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian.

Federation Alexander Karelin shared his personal experience of management in the Russian Federation of Wrestling, development of sport schools in regions. He said: «RIOU – it is the ground where we can integrate experience and achievements of Russian sport and innovative educational technologies».

Professor of Sheffield Hallam University (Great Britain) Guy Mastermann explained range of sport business-strategies.

First Vice-President of Russian Association of Sport Venues Leonid Zhestyannikov told about modern trends in the development and management of sport venues.

Professor of Kufstein University (Austria) Robert Caspar concentrated on management and marketing of sport events, tourism and venues.

First Vice-President of Moscow University of Industry and Finance Vladimir Lednev considered professional management as a factor to increase competitiveness in regional sport industry. Answering questions about attraction of investments and sponsors to regional sport projects he said that «first of all – it is the task of modern sport marketing specialist.You can't expect that there will be immediate surplus of such unique specialists because their training requires a lot of resources and efforts. But this process has already begun today».

Victor Prjadein Vice-President of the SC «Olympstroy» thinks that Olympic Games give new opportunities for sport development in the South of Russia and the whole country. Andrew Malygin Board member of the Russian Association of Sport Industry Enterprises told about specificity and differences of marketing and sponsorship in sport on federal, regional and municipal levels.
