The RIOU to collaborate with Sochi City Administration

The Mayor of Sochi Anatoly Pakhomov and RIOU's Chief Executive Officer Prof. Lev Belousov signed an MoU to collaborate during the period when Sochi is experiencing massive infrastructuctural, social and cultural changes due to preparations to the XXII Olympic and XI Paralympic Winter Games as well as during the post-Games period.

The cooperation between RIOU and Sochi City Administration will be focused on management training, conducting scientific and applied research, sustainable development and preserving the legacy of 2014 Games as well as implementation of innovative educational projects and exporting the accumulated experience to other regions of Russia and across the world.

Opening the ceremony of signing the Memorandum, the Mayor of Sochi Anatoly Pakhomov said that cooperation with the Russian International Olympic University has a special significance for the city. "Not only do we see Sochi as an up-and-coming resort, but we also strive to create a unique intellectual environment. RIOU has the potential to promote the image of Sochi, as to share with our guests and partners the cultural and historical heritage of the peoples living there. The University's latest educational technology, research process and a network of international partners with provide a flow of young talents. Training real professionals who have received quality education for their future jobs - is the key to successful development of our region. "

Professor Lev Belousov presented projects for future cooperation. The nearest of them are aimed at training the Administration's staff to use the latest techniques for managing sports infrastructure, as well as making RIOU's resources accessible for young scientists from Sochi. "For us it is very important to work closely with the city administration. This is the only way we can fulfill the task of building an innovative education and research cluster aimed at training specialists who master the art of management and share the noble Olympic values. I am confident that by doing so, not only do we strengthen the reputation of Sochi in the international community, but we also make high-quality investment for the future of our country as a whole ", - said Lev Belousov.
