The Russian International Olympic University together with the Organizing Committee "Sochi 2014" has completed the coaches training course on the workshops "Olympic hospitality". 85 specialists, who successfully passed the practical course, got the university certificates. Within a year and a half the coaches are supposed to transmit the gained experience to the staff of more than 100 Sochi hotels, sanatoria and boarding houses. In 2014 more than 41 000 hotel rooms will be opened for the Games visitors and guests.

The certificates were granted by the Organizing Committee "Sochi 2014" President  Dmitry Chernyshenko and RIOU CEO Lev Belousov.  Within a year and a half up to the Olympic Games the certified coaches are to transmit the gained knowledge to several thousands of hospitality sphere workers. For the staff of more than 100 hotels, sanatoria and boarding houses there will be organized two-day special trainings called "Olympic hospitality".  Every training will pay special attention to teach hotel staff to communicate with people with disability who will be guests of the Sochi Olympic Games and to provide excellent service to them.

Making conclusions of the workshops, RIOU CEO, professor Lev Belousov pointed: "The University decided to develop the programme Olympic hospitality purposefully. Sochi olympic legacy is introducing high quality service in the half-a-year resort, where service and hospitality are crucial factors. High demand in such programmes is obvious – those who will be able to provide high quality service at the international level will turn out to be highly competitive. According to the participants, our course is informative, interesting, and what is more important can be effectively put into practice. The future of our project is in our hands, we don't want to stop the dialogue in progress.  It is very important when the city authorities understand the necessity of such education. As a result, the service in Sochi restaurants and hotels is gradually taking a turn for the better, and this progress is apparent".
