Professor Lev Belousov, CEO of ANO "Russian International Olympic University", and Robert Gruman, PwC Russia's Global Relationship Partner for the Olympic Movement, have signed an Agreement of Cooperation and Partnership. With this signing, the parties confirm their agreement to work together on preserving the intellectual legacy of the XXII Olympic Winter Games and XI Paralympic Winter Games of 2014 in the city of Sochi – a legacy formed during major infrastructural and sociocultural developments in Sochi leading up to the Games, as well as in the post-Olympic period.

Under the Agreement, the cooperation between RIOU and PwC will aim at training managerial staff, carrying out scientific and practical research, fostering sustainable development and preserving the legacy of the Sochi 2014 Games, as well as realizing innovative educational projects and disseminating experience gained in Russia and around the world.

"This is the first Agreement that we have signed with a Partner of the Sochi 2014 Organizing Committee. Intellectual partnership with such a well-established company as PwC will allow us to enhance the preparation of managers for the sports industry. We are planning to attract its specialists as well qualified experts on the questions of sustainable development and effective implementation of business processes. I think our students will highly estimate the unique experience of PwC representatives", - said RIOU CEO, Professor Lev Belousov.

Robert Gruman, who in addition to leading PwC Russia's business consulting practice is also the network of audit-consulting firms' Global Relationship Partner for the Olympic Movement, has accepted an invitation to become a member of the University Expert Council. "The Olympic and Paralympic Games are more than just sport competitions. They are a real opportunity to create favorable conditions for socioeconomic development and lasting positive change. Education is a crucial factor in achieving this goal. Managers who participate in preparing and staging the Games, as well as sports managers who receive education at the Russian International Olympic University will be a substantial contribution to the workforce potential within the industry. The goals of the ANO "Russian International Olympic University" are large in scale and correspond to the strategic goals of the country", - Robert Gruman said.

The signing ceremony took place during the 2012 SportAccord International Convention, which is being held in Quebec from 21 till 25 May.
