The Russian International Olympic University (RIOU) is attending academic conferences and events throughout the UK in preparation for the launch of its inaugural Master of Sport Administration course in Russia.Park on 30 July, Day 4 of the London 2012 Olympic Games.

The ICSEMIS conference, which is taking place in Glasgow from the 19th-24th July, is the first stop in RIOU's journey across the United Kingdom. ICSEMIS is the largest sports science, education and medicine forum in the world, first held in Guangzhou in 2008 ahead of the Beijing Olympic Games. This year, the conference involves more than 1,000 delegates, from both academic and sports organisations, who are getting the chance to see RIOU's CEO, Professor Lev Belousov, and Head of Research and Development, Professor Nikolay Peshi, present on the development of the University and the MSA programme.

Professor Belousov, commented:
"Presenting at ICSEMIS is the perfect way to begin RIOU's tour of UK conferences – it is such a prestigious and popular forum – and we thank everyone there for receiving us so warmly. We cannot wait to network with and learn from all the delegates we will be meeting at Loughborough University and at the Education Summit at the British Business Club, and to showcase our University and flagship MSA course. And the culmination of our tour will, of course, be our own event at Russia.Park on 30 July."

The next stage of the RIOU tour will be the inaugural Colloquium of Olympic Studies and Research Centres (OSRC), held by Loughborough University and the British Olympic Foundation on 25 and 26 July. Here, for the first time, RIOU will join the network of OSRC coordinated by the IOC's Olympic Studies Centre, and will speak about its Sochi 2014 information legacy programme, research centres and opportunities for international partnership.

RIOU's tour will then make its way to London, where the University will host its own event on Monday 30 July, 2012 – Day 4 of London 2012 - in Russia.Park in London's Kensington Gardens. This launch event will include a presentation about the University and its campus, an innovative augmented reality presentation, and a VIP panel discussion and Q&A session involving the President of the Russian Olympic Committee, Alexander Zhukov; Sochi 2014 Organising Committee President and CEO, Dmitry Chernyshenko; leading Russian businessman and Chairman of RIOU's Supervisory Board, Vladimir Potanin; IIHF President, René Fasel; the UK Minister of State for Universities and Science, David Willetts; Podium Chairman, Geoff Petts; and Russian MP and Olympic champion, Svetlana Zhurova. Registration for this event remains open, at www.riou-msa-launch.com.

The University's tour will culminate with some networking at the Education Summit, which will be hosted in London at the British Business Club by a key supporter of RIOU's MSA international launch, UK Trade & Investment.
