The agreement was reached at the meeting of Head of the university Supervisory Board, President of Interros Holding Vladimir Potanin and President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, who presides the RIOU Board of Trustees.

"The Russian International Olympic University has been operating as an educational institution", - Vladimir Potatin stated at the meeting. "More than 10 programmes have been already implemented, dozens of people have got education – mostly they are members of future Sochi Olympic Games and regional staff for sports bodies", - he added.

"Next year in September the university will start operating as a full-scale institute, i.e. the complex of buildings will have been completed and we are planning the opening of full-featured academic year",- V.Potanin said.

"In this connection I would like to ask you as a Hear of the university Board of Trustees to consider the possibility to time the date of opening to coincide with the Board meeting in order to discuss all the current questions", - he addressed to V.Putin..

"Surely, with pleasure. We'll do it!" – Russian President agreed.
