«The Russian International Olympic University (RIOU) will issue the book "Sochi Olympic Legacy". The edition accumulates all the experience in the preparation to the Sochi 2014 Games, the impact of this process on the development of the region in general and the resort in particular», - said RIOU's CEO Lev Belousov today at the meeting of Sochi 2014 Public Council.
The editorial board of the new RIOU's editorial project consists of scientists from the geographical faculty of Lomonosov Moscow State University who were assigned by the IOC and the Sochi 2014 Organizing Committee to monitor the situation in the region which is preparing for the first Russian Winter Olympics, as well as members of the Olympic project and experts who forecast the Games influence on the economy.
Sochi mayor Anatoly Pakhomov, Krasnodar Krai governor Alexander Tkachev and some federal officials responsible for building Olympic venues have become coauthors of the future book. "The book is supposed to be a nonfiction work and I hope it will be interesting for a wide audience. It will be the only book on the current market which reflects drastic infrastructural and sports changes in the region and its possible future", - RIOU's rector expressed his opinion.
He announced that the presentation of the book "Sochi Olympic Legacy" will take place in January 2014.
