The Vladimir Potanin Foundation starts accepting applications for the Olympic Scholarships Program competitions. The Program, launched by the Foundation on the threshold of the Olympic Games in Sochi to promote modern approaches in sports education and train sports managers in the Russian International Olympic University (“RIOU”), has confirmed its relevance and continues to expand.

The Program includes two competitions: Scholarships competition offering individual scholarships to future fellows of the English version of the Master of Sports Administration Program of RIOU. Prospective sports managers willing to get supplementary professional education and selected by the RIOU admission board for studying in the university may apply for the scholarships.

Grants competition is held for international experts and faculty - visiting professors of the Master of Sports Administration Program of RIOU.

Oksana Oracheva, Director General of the Vladimir Potanin Foundation:

“The Foundation traditionally supports talented students to ensure high quality of teaching and learning process. This year our Olympic Scholarships Program made another logical step in this direction: to supplement the scholarships competition we have announced a grants competition for visiting professors. We hope it also would be in demand and allow us to attract the world-class, unique and highly professional sports management experts.”

Prof. Lev Belousov, Rector of ROIU:

“We are grateful to the Vladimir Potanin Foundation for expanding its grants program this year. Our university is focused on providing superior quality education in sports management. The best faculty from leading international universities works with us these days. At the same time additional grant support would allow us to engage new experts as visiting professors and this, no doubt, would have positive impact on academic activities.”

Currently 20 scholarships holders from 14 countries study under the Master of Sports Administration program. 18 fellows from 12 countries completed their education in academic year 2014/15.
