RIOU and the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) plan to deliver a joint Sports Event Management programme targeting international audiences, including members of The Association For International Sport for All (TAFISA).

The programme seeks to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of sports event management and organisational principles in the sector. The structure of the course reflects the diverse professional expertise of the lecturers and current theories in the field of event management. The syllabus includes topics such strategic planning, event branding and promotion, organisation of matches and crowd management, basic principles of sponsorship and venue management. Apart from theoretical training, the course will offer on-site classes at sports venues, hands-on seminars, as well as a cultural programme in Sochi and Moscow.

The teaching team includes practitioners with extensive experience in areas such as sports management and event management at both national and international level. Among them are Director General of the Russian Olympic Committee Vladimir Sengleev and representatives of the Event Wheel company, who have already given guest lectures on RIOU’s short courses and the Master of Sport Administration programme — Konstantin Bortnichek, Dmitry Brukhanov, Alexei Bogatov, and Maxim Laptev.
