The Russian International Olympic University (RIOU) is welcoming applications for its Master of Sport Administration (MSA) course, which targets individuals looking to develop their professional careers in the global sports industry.

RIOU has built a reputation for producing top-notch sports administrators equipped with the right skills to manage sports teams, venues, organisations and businesses, as well as to assist governments in implementing their policies in the field of fitness and sport.

The Master of Sport Administration (MSA) is RIOU’s flagship programme of professional retraining whose graduates have gone on successful sports management careers around the world. Launched in 2013, the course is delivered at a state-of-the-art campus in Sochi by the Black Sea offering students everything they need in one place. Students will be attending classes from September through March, while the period from April to June will be dedicated to practical training and dissertation writing.

RIOU’s MSA is ranked among the best postgraduate sports management courses in Europe and the world. The MSA teaching team comprises acclaimed professors from 9 different countries representing the world’s leading universities and international business schools. The full course load is 1,920 academic hours.

The MSA programme employs cutting-edge teaching methods and formats including interactive lectures, business simulations, case studies, discussions with experts, project work and essay writing.

Upon successful completion of the course, students will be awarded RIOU’s professional retraining diplomas (issued in Russian and English) conferring the Master of Sport Administration qualification.

As instruction is given in English, applicants are required to demonstrate English language competency at CEFR level C1. Other key requirements include a university degree in any field, as well as strong motivation for personal and professional growth in the sports industry.

RIOU Rector, member of the Russian Academy of Education Prof. Lev Belousov said: 'Despite the difficult time that global sport is going through, RIOU’s programmes of professional retraining are relevant and much sought-after. Now, more than ever, it is important to understand the nature of relationships between different actors in the sports industry and have the skills to promptly respond to the challenges that sports management and marketing specialists face today. Of great value is a systematic approach to solving current issues, mastery of market tools for promoting sports projects, and an understanding of the industry’s development prospects. This is what we teach at the Olympic University. We look forward to welcoming both young sports enthusiasts, who have just received their undergraduate degrees, and experienced professionals, who need some fresh perspectives on the sports industry and want to find new ‘growth points’ for their careers. Education has always been a strategic investment in the future, but today it is even more so'.
