The Russian International Olympic University (RIOU) marked the Russian Day of Students with a vibrant cross-cultural celebration, bringing together students from 15 countries for a lively interactive gathering. RIOU Rector, Professor Lev Belousov, opened the festivities with a welcoming address, noting the deep connection between St. Tatiana's Day and the Russian student community, tracing its origins to the foundation of Russia's first university, Lomonosov Moscow State University.
The Rector encouraged everyone: "Congratulate each other, your lecturers and friends from other universities on this holiday! A special greeting to all Tatianas studying, working, and teaching at RIOU. Congratulations to all of us on our professional holiday!"

Following the official opening, the winners of the university’s creative short video competition were announced. Students had shared their experiences from their first semester at RIOU in social media clips. The videos and photos radiated positivity, underscoring that RIOU truly represents a significant and memorable chapter in their lives. Three standout videos shared the top prize. One particularly popular entry achieved impressive reach, clocking up 3,000 views, 177 likes, 27 comments, and 39 reposts.

After the awards ceremony, the floor was opened to performances, with students showcasing vocal talents, dancing, and enjoying the chance to mingle and connect.

The event was met with overwhelming enthusiasm. MSA student Nasiimu Mutesi captured the general sentiment, sharing: "I'm so proud to be part of our incredible university—it really feels like a home away from home. A huge thank you to the entire RIOU team for this!"
