From May 11 to 13, 2026, RIOU ran a second three-day training course "Sports Facility and Event Management" in the Armenian capital. The course was specially designed for RIOU’s partner institution — the Armenian State Institute of Physical Culture and Sport (ASIPCS) — and brought together sports professionals from across the country.

The course syllabus was structured progressively, moving from foundational principles to specific practical tasks. The sessions were delivered by RIOU experts. Lev Gutman examined the key factors behind sports facility efficiency, safety issues, principles for creating an inclusive environment, and the adaptation of venues for Paralympic and Deaflympic disciplines. Leonid Zhestyannikov introduced the participants to the fundamentals of facility management, including the legacy of major competitions, modern trends in design, construction and operations, as well as the latest sports equipment and gear. Anna Semyonova led a module on organising sports events, covering everything from planning to operational activities on competition day.

Upon completion of the course, the participants were awarded certificates. The ceremony was conducted by ASIPCS Rector Tigran Simonyan and RIOU Vice-Rector Viktor Nikitin.
The seminar was extremely well received. RIOU graduates based in Yerevan also attended — keen to listen to their favourite lecturers and reconnect with the Olympic University. The course demonstrated that the mutually beneficial partnership between RIOU and ASIPCS continues to thrive for the benefit of sport development in both countries.
