Russian Olympians supporting fund and RIOU held the second circle of professional retraining course for athletes
At the end of March the staff development course of additional professional education “Sport management” was held in Moscow. It was the second circle of classes within the general programme of Russian Olympians supporting fund, implemented by the Russian International Olympic University for social adaptation of those athletes who finished their active career. Among students who completed 72-hour course there were such renowned athletes as Varteres Samurgashev, Greco-Roman wrestler, Olympic champion in Sydney summer Olympics, Alina Ivanova, European and World champion in race walking, Vladimir Smorchkov, European and World champion in weightlifting, Pavel Bykov, World champion in sabre fencing, Dmitry Ushakov, London Games trampoline silver winner. 22 athletes from 17 regions took part in the programme: Olympic medal winners, World, European and Russian champions winners and awardees, executives, coachers, specialists from sport training centers, schools, sports federations.
