The Russian International Olympic University and the ‘Omega' Centre for the Transfer of Building Technology of the Krasnodar Region have signed a Cooperation Agreement in a ceremony attended by RIOU Rector Professor Lev Belousov and Centre Omega's Deputy General Director Sergei Vorobyev. Under the Agreement, the two parties will work together to set up a joint information platform for science and education, and provide RIOU students with high quality training and employment opportunities upon graduation.

The Agreement will allow the MSA students to have hands-on training at Centre Omega's facilities, particularly during the staging of the Formula One Russian Grand Prix. Omega specialists will also contribute to RIOU's "Master of Sport Administration" programme by delivering workshops and seminars in the various disciplines of the MSA course, providing areas for thesis research and conducting joint research projects. In addition, Centre Omega will help RIOU graduates find employment upon graduation, on the basis of pre-agreed requests for personnel recruitment.

Some steps to implement the joint programme will be made this month. On September 4-6 RIOU will be hosting a series of lectures for future volunteers at the Russian Grand Prix. The MSA students will also volunteer at this year's most important motor racing event.

Commenting on the Agreement, RIOU Rector Prof. Lev Belousov said: ‘Our students are ambitious young specialists willing to enhance their professional and personal skills. So, we try to adequately meet their needs by offering not just theoretical training but opportunities to learn about the best management practices at top-class sporting facilities and competitions. Getting a behind-the-scene view of the organisation of F1 races is a great chance to gain new knowledge and skills'.

Sergei Vorobyev, Deputy Director of Centre Omega, said: ‘Cooperation with the Russian International Olympic University will definitely improve the efficiency of our personnel policies. Joint educational programmes will provide our specialists with cutting-edge skills, while RIOU students will develop invaluable practical experience and gain more confidence on the employment market'.
