President of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), 2007-2013.

Born on 10 January 1944 in Wellington, New Zealand

Government:
1984: elected as a member of the Liberal Party to the New South Wales Parliament
1992: elected to lead the Government as Premier, also Treasurer and Minister for Economic Development until 1995
1996: elected to the National Parliament and immediately appointed to the Cabinet as the Minister for Finance and Administration (held until retirement)

Sport:

Chaired the committee responsible for the preparation, submission and presentation of the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games bid.
Since retiring from politics, he has chaired the Australian Rugby League Development Board.
Patron of the highly successful national rugby league club, the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs.
Chairman of the Board of the Bradman Foundation which conducts cricket coaching clinics, awards scholarships for tertiary studies, and operates one of the most important cricket museums in the world.
As a young adult, he was a professional captain, coach and player in rugby league.

Business:

In the earlier part of his career he was Senior Partner in a small, successful legal practice. He was also Vice-President of a regional Law Society. Since leaving politics he serves on a number of public company boards.

Community:

Since leaving Parliament he has contributed to a number of national and state not-for-profit organisations such as the Australia-Ireland Fund, the Cancer Institute of New South Wales and the National Catholic Education Commission.
